Dr. Schneider is a physician researcher specializing in the field of natural medicine. For more than a decade, he and his collaborators have examined the efficacy of Maharishi Ayurveda and the Transcendental Meditation (TM) technique for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases, especially hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Schneider is one of the founding faculty of the Department of Physiology and Health, and a consultant to the National Institutes of Health and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention on natural medicine.

Sanford Nidich, Ed.D.

Since 1972, Dr. Nidich has conducted research on the effects of Maharishi Ayurveda on hypertension, self-actualization, drug abuse, and aging factors. He is co-investigator on several major National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants supporting study of Maharishi Ayurveda and cardiovascular disease.

Carolyn King, PhD

Dr. King conducted the first federally funded research projects involving the TM technique and is actively involved in research on the effects of TM on health. She has a BA in Sociology from Southern Arkansas University, and an MA and PhD in Psychology from the University of Michigan.

Maxwell Rainforth, PhD

In addition to his PhD in Psychology, Dr. Rainforth holds an MS in Mathematics and an MA in Education. His work in Statistics has received support with grants from the National Institutes of Health and the Retirement Research Foundation. Before coming to the United States, he was a senior systems analyst in his native country of New Zealand.
